Smithsonian Celescope
The SAO Celescope consisted of four individual 12-inch telescopes, each employing a special TV tube (Uvicon) designed to operate in the ultraviolet region. Celescope produced a new map of the heavens as seen in the ultraviolet but not visible from the earth due to atmospheric filtering.
