UW Astronomer: A. Weitenbeck

During the ASTRO-2 mission observations of several clusters were scheduled by UIT to identify and categorize hot stars in them. During these observations WUPPE (and HUT) generally tried to point to a chosen star in the cluster or near it in order to obtain a observation (spectroscopy and polarimetry) of that star alone. In a few globular clusters there were no suitable stars available, and the pointing was made to the cluster center to obtain an integrated cluster spectrum.
For several of the clusters WUPPE obtained polarimetry of individual stars which is being analyzed along with other stars in WUPPE ISM program.
For several others WUPPE obtained a spectrum.
