During the ASTRO-2 mission several observations of
galaxies in the Local Group were scheduled by UIT to identify and categorize
hot stars in them. During these observations WUPPE (and HUT)
generally tried to point to a chosen star
to obtain an observation (spectroscopy and polarimetry) of that
star alone.
For only two pointings was there a target in the field
bright enough to be useful for polarimetry. WUPPE did observe the cluster
NGC330 in the SMC, and a star in the LMC. These are being
analyzed as part of the Magellanic Clouds segment of the
WUPPE ISM program.
