NGC 1068 is a Seyfert Galaxy with a bright starlike nucleus, inconspicuous arms, and highly-excited spectra with broad emission lines. It is over 52 million light years away. Several distinct clouds are located here, with velocities up to 600 km/sec. Its mass is 2.6 X 109 times that of our Sun's mass, and its temperature is about 20,000 K. Due to the power output, the mass of NGC 1068 is decreasing and will vanish in 108 (100 million) years.
