Setting the Battery-backed Clock
The ST5000 CPU board has a battery-backed clock. We load in the current UTC time.
- Start the ST5000 GUI
- Boot up the ST5000
- Open the Uplink3 window, and click the update time button. It uses the PC's time.
You can also change the time manually.
- In the User Command widget, type
date 200601181702.00; rtc -s hw; rtc -s hw
giving the UTC year, month, day, hours, minutes, and seconds.
The "date" command sets the time in the software clock, and the "rtc" command loads the software clock into the battery-backed hardware clock.
